Reishi Mushrooms

Reishi mushrooms, or Ganoderma Lucidum as they are biologically named, have been used as medicinal treatments in China for 4,000 years. Known as "spirit medicine," Reishi mushrooms are surrounded by mysterious abilities to aid in the treatments of many different types of illnesses. While scientific research continues to determine their exact potential, Reishi mushrooms are considered to have special properties in China.

Reishi mushrooms are found in a variety of colors, but the most medically significant is that of the red Reishi. This herb has been known to aid cancer patients in their struggle with chemotherapy treatment. The side effects of chemotherapy may include, among others, fatigue, hair and appetite loss. These symptoms have been shown to lessen through treatments involving Reishi mushrooms. In addition, because of their ability to strengthen the human bodys immune system, Reishi mushrooms are thought to have the capability to prevent the reoccurrence of cancer. Through continued use, the Reishi mushroom may help to rebuild a weakened immune system to avoid further damage from viruses and other bacteria. A strong immune system should detect harmful viruses before they cause damage to the body, which is an excellent reason for keeping the immune system operating properly and in tact.

As mentioned, Reishi mushrooms are known to treat a variety of illnesses. Other common uses for treatments involving Reishi mushrooms include, conditions of the liver, coronary disorders, allergies, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and stress. In fact, patients have found comfort in the treatment of Reishi mushrooms by preventing certain health factors which may lead to a heart attack. Patients often begin a treatment regimen as a preventative course of action as opposed to fighting an already present ailment. Reishi mushrooms have also helped to treat the symptoms of stress, which include sleep deprivation, fatigue and the loss of concentration. They are also known to promote an overall improvement in mental health.

 Can Reishi Mushrooms Help You?

Patients who suffer from acne breakouts, age spots and fine lines may find the Reishi mushroom to be a treatment option as it promotes the delivery of nutrients throughout the skin. It also appears to have positive results in treatments for anti-aging and skin that has been damaged due to excessive exposure to the sun. Therefore, conditioning of the skin has been shown to be improved by the use of Reishi mushrooms.

Until recently, Reishi mushrooms have been rare and a very expensive form of treatment. Due to the process of growing the herb indoors, treatments have become more affordable and readily available to both patients and scientific researchers.

Any persons who decide to begin a treatment involving Reishi mushrooms should expect to experience some type of reaction, which may appear within a few days or months following the onset of treatment. This article should, in no way, be considered as medical advice or instructions.
